Childline Gauteng Province (CLGP) was initiated under the umbrella of the SA Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Childline Gauteng was subsequently taken over by the Johannesburg Children’s Home as a project comprising 2 telephone lines and 2 volunteers answering calls for help. Childline Gauteng has grown considerably since then and now operates from seven (7) Community-Based Centres (CBC’s) within the province (Inner City, Soweto, Diepsloot, Tembisa, Katlehong, Orange Farm and Sebokeng).
Childline GP understands that genuine caring for those who have suffered is the key ingredient in the healing process. Our workforce of dedicated staff members and volunteers devotes their attention to prevention and early intervention, facilitating the protection of the most vulnerable children in our society through a wide variety of services and programmes.
